What cookies are
Cookies are small text files a website saves in your browser. Similar technologies, such as your browser’s local storage, work the same way. In this policy we call all of them “cookies”.
Some are essential — the site can’t work properly without them, and they need no consent. Others, like analytics and advertising cookies, are optional: we only use them if you agree.

Visit counting without cookies
Separately from cookies, our own server counts page views so we can see which pages are useful. Nothing is stored in your browser and IP addresses are not kept: unique visitors are counted with a code made from the IP address, the browser and a secret that changes every day, so a visitor counts once per day and can’t be followed from day to day. Bots are left out and we only look at totals, kept for up to 13 months. This works the same whatever you choose in the cookie card, because it reads nothing from your device.
Analytics — Google Analytics 4 (only with your consent)
Helps us understand which pages golf clubs read and where they come from, so we can improve the site. We don’t use it to identify you.

Advertising — Google Ads and LinkedIn (only with your consent)
Lets us see whether our ads lead to visits and enquiries (conversion measurement), and may let Google and LinkedIn show our ads to people who visited the site. The LinkedIn Insight Tag is only loaded after you allow advertising.

How consent works
- Nothing optional before you choose. When the page opens, Google Analytics and Google Ads start in “denied” mode and set no cookies, and the LinkedIn Insight Tag isn’t loaded at all.
- Accept, Decline or Choose. The card at the bottom of the page lets you accept everything, decline everything just as easily, or switch analytics and advertising on separately.
- Google Consent Mode. We tell Google your choice using its Consent Mode. If you decline, Google may still receive basic, cookieless signals — for example that a page was viewed — without any identifier stored in your browser. Google uses these only in aggregated form.
- Legal basis. We use optional cookies only with your consent (GDPR article 6(1)(a), and the cookie rules in EU and Norwegian law, including the Norwegian Electronic Communications Act). Essential storage of your choice is necessary to respect it.
Your choices
- Change your mind any time with the button above or the Cookie settings link in the footer of our website. A new choice applies immediately.
- Withdrawing consent stops new analytics and advertising cookies. To remove ones already stored, clear the cookies for greensync.app in your browser settings.
- Browser controls: every major browser lets you block or delete cookies. If you block all cookies, the site still works — we just can’t remember your choice.
- Google’s own tools: you can opt out of Google Analytics across sites with Google’s browser add-on, and manage ad personalisation at myadcenter.google.com and in your LinkedIn ad settings.
Google, LinkedIn and data transfers
Google Analytics and Google Ads are provided by Google Ireland Limited. Google may process data in the United States; transfers rely on the EU–US Data Privacy Framework and the European Commission’s standard contractual clauses. Google describes how it uses data at policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites.
The LinkedIn Insight Tag is provided by LinkedIn Ireland Unlimited Company. LinkedIn may also process data in the United States under the same framework; see the LinkedIn privacy policy.
The GreenSync app
This policy covers our public website, greensync.app. The GreenSync app that clubs and their staff sign in to uses only cookies needed for signing in, security and remembering settings such as your theme — it doesn’t use advertising cookies. How we process data in the app is described in our privacy policy.
